The aim was to acclimatize the system of the postal network to the rapid metamorphosis of our times. With the concept of hand-woven envelopes we inclined towards the environmentally conscious aspect of our times attesting to the simple fact that cloth is more durable than paper and also reusable.

The technique is Hand weaving which itself is a very cultural process and brings with is uniquely rustic aesthetics. These envelopes are woven in India post colors of red and golden yellow.

For the address of the recipients, these envelopes are stamped with QR codes which do away with entire steps of the postal process, making it more efficient and technologically viable. One simply has to point a smart phone at a letter to know exactly where it has to go. The QR code stamps will be the stick on clothing labels which will stick strong and last long on the fabric. It is also removable without leaving any messy residue on the cloth.

Envelopes woven on a twelve shafts loom with 2/20 cotton yarns inspired by the colors of India Post, red and golden yellow.
